Doctor confirmed pneumonia on the basis of following symptoms:

(i) Occurrence of fever and chills.

(ii) Cough and headache.

(iii) The lips and finger nails may turn grey to bluish in colour.

There was no nasal congestion and sore throat which can also be the reasons for doctor to rule out common cold.

Precautions to be followed to prevent the spread of this disease are :

(i) Avoid sharing articles with the infected person.

(ii) The infected person should cover mouth with handkerchief while coughing.

A healthy person can acquire the infection by inhaling the droplets/aerosols released by an infected person
