My cousin is probably the victim of drug addiction or dependence i.e., the tendency of the body to manifest a characteristic and unpleasant withdrawal syndrome, if regular dose of drug is abruptly discontinued because of perceived benefits. Following measures may help him to overcome this problem:

(i) Educationandcounselling: Hecanbecounselled to face the problems and stresses positively and to channelise his energy into healthy activities like reading, music, yoga, etc.

(ii) Seeking professional and medical help : He may seek professional and medical help to get rid of his problem completely with sufficient efforts and will power.

(iii) Avoid undue peer pressure.
