A healthy plant can be obtained from a virus infected plant through tissue culture technique wherein meristematic tissue is used as explant as it is free from virus. This is because rate of division of meristematic cells is very high as compared to multiplication rate of virus so the newly formed cells cannot be invaded by virus.
